Eliz Nestorov is the Co-Founder/ CEO of the American-Bulgarian Chamber in America,
Washington, DC. The Chamber is a business membership organization that promotes, enhances, and develops American-Bulgarian economic relations which foster more positive global business and governmental relationships. Eliz is a Bulgarian-American prominent lobbyist, consultant and public figure in the State of Pennsylvania and its capital. She also manages AKAEVA Consulting, assisting nonprofit community-based organizations and social enterprises. AKAEVA focuses on developing strategies for leaders, organizational board engagement, program effectiveness evaluation and fundraising. Eliz has 20 years of experience in leading campaigns, project development and volunteer stewardship for many organizations through the U.S. Her grant writing and fundraising skills have secured millions of dollars for her clients.
Plamen Krastev began his career in international politics and public affairs in Bulgaria, where he is born and raised. He moved to the U.S.A. in 2000 to continue his international public policy education and training at Georgetown University. Beginning in 2001, Plamen began working in the private sector, holding leadership roles in communication and public policy. For the past few years, he has taken on numerous non-profit leadership roles, including serving on the board of directors of the Bulgarian-Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center (BMNECC) in Pittsburgh, PA. Most recently, Plamen launched the Worldwide Capital Media Group, PR company, helping clients and communities in DC Metropolitan area navigate an increasingly complex public landscape. With more than 20 years of leadership experience, Plamen will help the Chamber maintain strong and positive relations with elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels.
Ambassador Elena Poptodorova
Ambassador Elena Poptodorova currently serves as the Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association (NATO-Brussels) and as the Vice President and Director for Euro-Atlantic Affairs at the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria (ACB). She served for two terms, a total of 13 years, as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United States of America; facilitating major investments by foreign companies in each economic sector in Bulgaria. Ambassador Poptodorova started the Bulgaria Caucus on the Hill, the corps of Bulgaria’s Honorary Counsuls and she launched the Bulgarian Schools Network throughout the United States. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Poptodorova served as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director of the Human Rights and International Humanitarian Organizations Directorate. From 1990 through 2001 she was elected Member of the Bulgarian Parliament. Her impressive background includes numerous Board services including but not limited to: Bulgarian nongovernmental organizations, Atlantic Council of the United States, Washington Executive Council on Diplomacy, Womens Foreign Policy Group, University Council of the American University in Bulgaria, Cultural Diplomacy Institute, Germany, TA company and many more. Presently, Amb. Poptodorova leads the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) program at the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and engages in public speaking on variety of foreign affairs topics.
A Fulbright Scholar, Mr. Antikarov has held leadership roles in sophisticated financial transactions, corporate finance, strategy development, and enterprise risk management, driving gains in revenue, profitability, and shareholder value. Currently, he is a CFO of Epione Pharmaceuticals. His experience includes work with Fortune 500 companies, as well as international front runners such as AT&T, Merck, Lockheed Martin, Alcatel-Lucent, Thomson Reuters, Philips, OSG, Roche, Valle, Votorantim, Telefonica and Axel Johnson. He is co-author of a best-selling book, Real Options, A Practitioner’s Guide, which is used by MIT, Harvard and The Wharton School and by corporate finance practitioners. Antikarov is cited as a thought partner in McKinsey & Company’s book Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies.
Mr. Angelo Gaydardzhiev is born and raised in Eastern Europe and moved to U.S. in 2006 to fulfill his dream of building wealth in the real estate industry. He has been selling real estate for the last six years, has been top producing agent with Keller Williams Realty for the last three years, has been awarded Top Agent for Washington Metropolitan Area for 2018 and 2019 and has been ranked in the top 1% of Realtors nationwide. Mr. Gaydardzhiev loves numbers! He has been investing in real estate actively since 2009 and also have been flipping homes since 2014. What fuels his passion for growth and new heights is his love for real estate.Currently, Mr. Gaydardzhiev owns over 40 rental properties in DC Metropolitan area.
Ivaylo Guenov is a technology leader with broad experience in building companies from the start-up stage as well as leading large corporate initiatives. He has served as an executive advisor and transformational leader for a number of high-performing organizations in Healthcare, Energy, Retail, Finance and Government. In addition to advising early stage companies, Ivaylo has held long-term leadership roles with Concord, Groundswell, ScaleFocus and Deloitte.
Robert Manolov is the owner of Chicho, Inc., a design manufacturing service for electronics and mechanics in the cutting business field. The company specializes in fast, clean, quality, cutting including 3D CAD CAM for any business cutting application. Robert also known as Chicho is a mechanical and electronics engineer, and production designer by degree. He has a long and distinguished expertise in hardware hand tools designed for chopping, cutting, feeding and forging. He is also the main engine portal covering topics such as metalworking (drilling, turning, milling), welding, soldering, automation, etc., as well as delivering extensive training for modern production lines and facilities. Native to Bulgaria, Chicho is a graduate from Vasil Levski National Military University in Bulgaria. He well-known Bulgarian business person among the American-Bulgarian community.
Former U.S. Ambassador Michael Ussery has led major investments and development projects in East Europe, Asia, and the Mid-East. Ussery is a founder of numerous companies and non-profit organizations; and a strategic advisor and board member to leading corporations and start-ups. In 2018 the State Department awarded him the “Senior Advisor” role to help launch the new Conflicts and Stabilization Operations Bureau. Presently, Ussery is Vice Chairman of Kima Communications, a media company that has worked with more than 60 countries the past 20 years. Since 2009, he has been Chairman of the Advisory Board of the CalErin Group, an investment advisory firm in East and Central Europe. He also is in his 15th year on the Board of Directors of Safi Apparel, a US contractor in Afghanistan.
Dr. ZVEZDOMIR ZAMFIROV
Dr. Zvezdomir Zamfirov, also known as Dr. Zed, was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved in 2000 to U.S. to complete his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is also the founder of All Star Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine which opened its doors on February 1st, 2017. He is the first in Anne Arundel County who implemented stem cell treatments for variety of orthopedic conditions. Dr. Zamfirov is also a member of the medical staff at Baltimore Washington Medical Center and Anne Arundel Medical Center. Since 2007 Dr. Zamfirov has been providing comprehensive care for thousands of patients in his offices in Annapolis and Glen Burnie.
