Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Mottley was an engineer in private practice, in the federal government and a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Mr. Mottley is a Past President of the District of Columbia Bar in Washington D.C. Mr. Mottley chaired the DC Bar Global Legal Practice Task Force studying the impact of globalization on the legal profession. Mr. Mottley is an Adjunct Faculty member of The George Washington University Law School and Howard University School of Law. Mr. Mottley has been named an IP Star in the United States and in the District of Columbia by Managing Intellectual Property in 2013-2020. Mr. Mottley is listed in the World’s Leading Patent Professionals for 2017-2020. Mr. Mottley holds a law degree, with honors, from The George Washington University; a Masters of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech.
